The Trump administration’s ambassador-designate to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, was the “guest star” at a Washington D.C. event on Sunday evening organized by several top Greek-American leaders.
The one-time top Trump aide and very vocal media supporter was gifted a religious icon by the Archbishop of America Elpidophoros, with Guilfoyle later expressing what she called her admiration for the Greek-American community’s values pertaining to faith, family, and heritage.
“I love the community, I love the country,” she said in referring to Greece, while calling her appointment as the ambassador in Athens a “a blessing of a lifetime.”
Guilfoyle must still be ratified by the US Senate before assuming the post.
Other notable attendees included NYC-based grocery store billionaire John Catsimatidis, who’s long been cited as a possible mayoral or even state-wide candidate for the Republicans in New York, Congresswoman (R) Nicole Malliotakis, who represents New York’s 11th Congressional District, Michael Rigas, the deputy secretary of state-designate and Nevada Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony.
