Another mild earthquake rocked the large island of Crete on Friday after, with the tremor measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale.

The quake was recorded at 16.53 (14.53 GMT), with an epicenter 42 kilometers southwest of the township of Paleochora, and at a depth of 20.6 kilometers.

Several moderate (higher than a magnitude of 5 on the Richter scale) to mild earthquakes have shaken Crete this past year, while the maritime region to the north of the large island, roughly between Santorini, Anafi, Amorgos and Ios experienced a “seismic swarm” in late January and February this year. Two mild quakes rocked the Mount Athos promontory in northern Greece this past week.

No damages were reported on Friday.
