The Hellenic Air Force on Monday released a new video via a post on the social media platform X showing a rescue operation and the immediate airlift of an individual from an oil tanker sailing off the southeastern Aegean island of Rhodes.
The man was subsequently hospitalized on the island.
Specifically, the air force said that on Saturday a “Super Puma” helicopter carried out a MEDEVAC mission, evacuating one crewmember from the Malta-flagged oil tanker “Arrow Star 1,” which was sailing 70 nautical miles south of Rhodes. The latter was transported to the General Hospital of Rhodes, where an ambulance of the National Emergency Aid Center (EKAB) received the patient.
