A 60-year-old British tourist was seriously injured in an accident on the Greek island of Skiathos after falling from a height of approximately two metres during a night out. She was rushed to Volos General Hospital, where she remains under close medical supervision.
The incident occurred late at night while the woman was reportedly enjoying an evening at a local venue on the island. According to reports, she is believed to have consumed a significant amount of alcohol before the accident took place.
At one point, the tourist allegedly attempted to sit on a raised ledge but lost her balance and fell, plunging roughly two metres to the ground. The impact left her with serious chest fractures, prompting an immediate response from Skiathos emergency and medical services.
She was initially given first aid on the island before doctors decided that an emergency transfer to Volos was necessary for specialised treatment and further hospital care.
Medical staff say the woman was fortunate to survive the fall without even more severe — potentially fatal — injuries, given both the height of the drop and the manner of impact.
