Greek tax authorities have charged a self-proclaimed dating coach with large-scale tax evasion after uncovering undeclared income generated through social media platforms, officials said.
According to the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), investigators identified the individual using a specialized algorithm designed to detect digital tax evasion. The man has reportedly been offering paid coaching services to adult men for at least five years, promising to help them improve their flirting and dating skills.
Authorities estimate that more than 2,000 people purchased one or more of his services during that period.
The case escalated after tax officials examined his social media activity, particularly on TikTok, where they discovered he was promoting a paid training event held at a central hotel in Athens. AADE inspectors attended the event undercover, posing as participants.
During an on-site inspection, authorities found that no receipts had been issued to attendees. Fines were imposed immediately, officials said.
The investigation has since expanded to include the coach’s full business activity over the past five years. Using digital tools and cross-checking data from his personal website and social media accounts, auditors identified a significant volume of undeclared income.
