The investigation into the femicide of a 45-year-old police officer in Drama, northern Greece, is moving forward with new witness statements ordered by the prosecutor, as authorities seek to clarify all aspects of the case.
Among those expected to testify are the psychologist who was treating the 50-year-old suspect, the psychiatrist who had evaluated him, and the psychologist who had online sessions with the victim. Their testimonies are considered important for understanding the psychological state of both the victim and the alleged perpetrator before the fatal incident.
Psychologists and psychiatrist to provide testimony
According to information from the investigation, the couple had initially visited the same psychologist. However, after only a few sessions, the woman stopped attending and was referred to another specialist. Authorities are examining whether these sessions may provide further insight into the relationship and the difficulties the couple was facing.
The 50-year-old suspect had also been referred to a psychiatrist, who is now expected to provide information about his mental health condition and any relevant assessments.

The prosecutor has additionally requested testimony from the commanders of the two police departments where the victim and the suspect served.
Investigators are looking into whether the police authorities were aware of the problems within the couple’s relationship. The case has drawn further attention after reports that the 45-year-old officer had requested a transfer, a move reportedly linked to her efforts to distance herself from the situation.
