Ferry services from Greek ports resumed normally as of 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, following a temporary suspension due to gale-force winds that had caused significant disruptions and kept ferries docked.

The sailing ban, issued over the weekend, left many travelers stranded, with holiday plans disrupted and accommodation bookings on Greek islands affected.

Overcrowding and long lines were reported at ports on Tinos and Syros on Sunday, as passengers rushed to reschedule their tickets amid the uncertainty.

Port authorities are urging travelers to arrive early at departure points and stay in close contact with ferry operators for any potential changes or delays to scheduled routes.

While weather conditions are gradually improving, authorities continue to advise caution—particularly for those traveling on smaller vessels. According to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), today’s forecast predicts northern winds reaching 4 to 5 Beaufort in western regions, 5 to 7 in the east, and up to 8 Beaufort in the Cyclades and Crete during morning hours.
