A fire broke out on Wednesday morning in the Drapano area on the island of Kefalonia, triggering an immediate response from the fire service.
The blaze started at a waste disposal site and, fueled by strong winds, spread rapidly.
A total of 24 firefighters have been deployed to the scene, supported by two ground teams from the Special Forest Firefighting Units (EMODE). Two firefighting aircraft are also assisting in efforts from the air.
Residents in the area received an emergency alert via the 112 warning system.
