Four people were rescued after a rented tourist boat capsized off the coast of Halkidiki in northern Greece, maritime authorities said.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in the sea area near Ampelitsi islet in Sithonia, when the local coast guard was alerted that a rental boat had overturned. Coast guard personnel rushed to the scene and found the vessel partially submerged.

The four passengers—three Greek nationals and one Albanian citizen—were located in shallow waters close to the shoreline and were safely recovered by a speedboat. According to authorities, all four were unharmed.

The partially submerged boat was later towed away by employees of the rental company.

The local coast guard office, which is investigating the incident, has prohibited the vessel from returning to service until it is issued a certificate confirming its seaworthiness.

Authorities also confirmed that no marine pollution was caused by the accident.
