Greece will enjoy predominantly sunny weather on Friday, with a few clouds developing during the warmer parts of the day, especially over mainland areas. Localized showers or isolated thunderstorms are expected mainly in mountainous regions of the mainland and possibly over parts of the northern Aegean islands. These weather phenomena will gradually subside, although isolated showers may persist into the evening in areas such as eastern Thessaly (Magnesia), central Macedonia (Chalkidiki), and the northern Aegean.

Temperatures will remain high across much of the country:

  • Northern Greece: 22–37°C (Western Macedonia: 16–30°C)
  • Central & Southern Greece: 20–36°C (up to 37°C in parts of Thessaly)
  • Western Greece: 19–34°C
  • Cyclades & Crete: 23–33°C
  • Eastern Aegean Islands: 21–36°C
  • Dodecanese: 23–31°C

Winds:

  • In the Aegean Sea, winds will generally blow from the north at light to moderate levels (3–4 Beaufort), increasing to moderate (5 Beaufort) from the northwest in the southeastern Aegean.
  • In the Ionian Sea, winds will come from the northwest, generally light but occasionally reaching nearly moderate strength (up to 4 Beaufort).

Regional Highlights

Athens (Attica Region):
Mainly sunny with some cloud buildup in the warmer hours. There is a slight chance of a brief rain shower in the northern and mountainous parts of the region.

  • Temperatures: 26–36°C (cooler by 2–3°C in northern and coastal zones)
  • Winds: Light, variable in direction

Thessaloniki:
Sunny with periods of increased cloud cover during midday and afternoon.

  • Temperatures: 25–36°C
  • Winds: Light and variable, turning northwesterly in the evening and strengthening temporarily to 4–5 Beaufort in the Thermaic Gulf

Visibility may be locally reduced overnight and during the early morning hours in western and northern areas.
