Anxiety spread among residents across several areas of Attica on Tuesday afternoon, with reports of a strong gas odor coming primarily from the southern suburbs. Affected neighborhoods span from Glyfada and Paleo Faliro all the way to Piraeus, Keratsini, and Drapetsona, while reports have also emerged from more central areas including Neos Kosmos and Kallithea.
A fire service unit along with representatives of the natural gas company are currently conducting investigations to determine whether an actual leak is responsible for the odor.
