The Greek National Organization for Medicines (EOF) has warned consumers against purchasing or using a dietary supplement called WELLNEXIS SUPER COMPLEX, which is being illegally advertised and distributed online.
The agency said the company responsible for the product’s circulation or distribution in the Greek market remains unknown, while the product is being promoted through websites operating illegally.
Claims made about the product
According to the EOF, WELLNEXIS SUPER COMPLEX is advertised online with claims that it can help with:
- erectile dysfunction;
- pain and swelling in the joints; and
- cardiovascular health.
However, the agency stressed that the product is not an approved medicinal product and has not been notified to the EOF as a dietary supplement. As a result, the product’s safety and effectiveness have not been evaluated by the agency.
The Organization has urged consumers to exercise particular caution with products advertised online with therapeutic or other health claims without the required approval or notification.
The agency called on consumers not to purchase or use WELLNEXIS SUPER COMPLEX.
Anyone who already has the product in their possession is also advised not to use it and to immediately notify the EOF.
