Expect scattered showers across the Ionian, mainland Greece, and parts of the Aegean early on. As the day rolls on, rain and storms will zero in on western, central, and northern Greece — some of them locally intense, especially in the northwest, where thunderstorms are likely to steal the show.

Meanwhile, Saharan dust will sweep in from the south, thickening the atmosphere and tinting the skies, particularly over southern Greece. In Crete, it’s not just dusty — it’s hot, with temperatures in northern parts spiking up to 35°C.

Winds will stir things up too:

  • Aegean Sea: Mostly southeast winds at 6–7 Beaufort, with gusts up to 8 Beaufort in places — especially in the south. These will ease slightly by night.

  • Ionian Sea: Starts with southeasterlies at 4–6, even 7 Beaufort in the south, shifting to milder northwesterlies by afternoon.

Temperatures will range widely:

  • Western Macedonia: 9–15°C
  • Rest of Macedonia & Thrace: 11–18°C
  • Thessaly: 13–23°C
  • Epirus: 13–24°C
  • Other mainland regions: 14–27°C
  • Ionian Islands: 15–24°C
  • Aegean Islands: 14–24°C
  • Crete: 21–28°C — but up to 34–35°C in the north

Regional Highlights:

Athens: A muddy morning with light dusty showers, clearing to partly cloudy skies. Dust levels will remain high. Winds from the southeast at 4–6 Beaufort, turning lighter from the south-southwest later on. Temps from 17 to 25–26°C.

Thessaloniki: Periods of steady rain, easing a bit later in the day. Southeast winds at 4–5 Beaufort, shifting to gentler northwesterlies in the afternoon. Highs near 18°C.
