Police in Crete are investigating a serious stabbing incident after a 30-year-old man was found critically injured inside his home in the Chania region.
The man was discovered late at night at his residence in the Kolymbari area after police were alerted and rushed to the scene.
According to local reports, the victim had suffered a severe stab wound to the chest. He was immediately transported to Chania Hospital, where doctors carried out a lengthy surgery.
Medical sources said the knife wound appeared to have struck the man’s heart. Despite the severity of the injury, his condition is now reported to be stable, and he remains under close medical supervision.
Police are expected to question the injured man once his health condition allows, in an effort to clarify what happened and determine whether others were involved.
Investigators have already brought in several suspects for questioning, while the inquiry remains ongoing.
