The search for a missing 34-year-old diver has ended in tragedy, after his body was located on Wednesday 25/03, at a significant depth off a coastal area where he disappeared earlier this week.
The man had been reported missing since Sunday, when he went diving with another individual. His diving partner managed to return safely to the surface and immediately alerted authorities, prompting a search and rescue operation.
After several days of efforts, rescue teams discovered the diver’s body deep underwater. Due to the challenging conditions and the depth at which he was found, the recovery operation is expected to require careful planning and specialized equipment.
According to reports, the retrieval will not take place immediately. Rescue divers are expected to use special gas mixtures to safely reach the location, with the operation likely scheduled for later in the week.
Earlier in the search, authorities had located key items belonging to the diver, including a fin and an underwater scooter, which helped narrow down the search area and ultimately led to the discovery.
