Shocking new information has surfaced about the murder of a 47-year-old woman in Chalandri, Greece, who was stabbed to death in the entrance of her apartment building on August 18. The attacker, a 28-year-old man with whom she had a brief relationship earlier this year, confessed to the killing during police questioning, while being charged with with intentional homicide.
“I lost control and started stabbing her,” the suspect reportedly told officers. According to his statement, he waited for the woman outside her building after leaving a community soup kitchen where they had both been present. When she arrived, he asked to talk, but she shouted at him. He then pulled out a knife and struck her 15 times in broad daylight.
The man told police he was angry because he believed the woman had humiliated him among his friends and reported him to the authorities for harassment. He admitted to feelings of isolation, claiming his friends distanced themselves after their brief encounters, and also cited psychological problems.
Reports indicate that the victim had filed a complaint with the local police six months prior, claiming that the suspect had been harassing her. At the time, police issued a warning to the man, but no further action was taken. Authorities are now investigating whether the suspect has underlying psychological issues.
The suspect, who expressed remorse for the killing, is expected to present his formal testimony to investigators. Authorities are also examining his claims of mental health issues as part of the ongoing case.
