Search operations are continuing for a 69-year-old man who has been missing in the wider area of the Thermaic Gulf, near Thessaloniki, northern Greece.
According to a post by OFKATH, a volunteer rescue team, the missing man’s boat and personal belongings were found on Wednesday morning near the Epanoμή shipwreck area, raising hopes that investigators may find further clues about his disappearance.
Divers and vessels from the Hellenic Coast Guard are taking part in the operation, while OFKATH volunteers are searching the coastline using drones and a ground team.
The search effort has expanded along the coast, reaching as far as Nea Kallikrateia, as authorities and rescue teams continue their efforts to locate the missing man.
