Mostly sunny weather is expected across nearly all of Greece on Tuesday, January 13, bringing a noticeable rise in daytime temperatures. Despite the improvement, early morning and nighttime conditions will remain challenging in many areas due to frost, fog, and reduced visibility. A brief and weak snowfall is possible locally in northern parts of Thrace.

Skies will be generally clear nationwide, with only a few scattered clouds. Cloud cover will be more persistent at times in northern Greece, where a short-lived light snow shower may occur in northern Thrace. Frost is expected overnight and early in the morning, mainly over mainland areas but also in some island regions. During the morning and evening hours, fog and reduced visibility are likely in several parts of the country.

Temperatures (in Celsius) will range as follows:

  • Western Macedonia: -12°C to 6°C
  • Rest of Macedonia and Thrace: -5°C to 6–8°C
  • Thessaly and Epirus: -5°C to 8–10°C
  • Other mainland regions: -3°C to 10–12°C
  • Ionian Islands: 0°C to 12–13°C
  • Northern and Northeastern Aegean Islands: -1°C to 7–8°C
  • Remaining Aegean islands and Crete: 3°C to 11–13°C

Winds will blow from the northwest in both the Aegean and Ionian seas at 4 to 5 Beaufort. In the southeastern Aegean, particularly around the Dodecanese islands, winds may locally reach 6 to 7 Beaufort, which could affect ferry services.

Athens (Attica): Sunny conditions with a few thin clouds are expected. Northwest winds will blow at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from 1°C to 10°C, with lower minimums in northern suburbs.

Thessaloniki: Sunshine will prevail. Frost is expected overnight and early in the morning, with possible reduced visibility. Northwest winds will reach 3 to 4 Beaufort. Temperatures will range from -1°C to 6°C, with colder conditions in areas surrounding the city.

Travelers should be cautious during early and late hours due to frost and fog, especially in northern and inland regions.
