A taxi driver in Athens was the victim of an armed robbery after two passengers posed as customers before threatening him with a knife at the end of the journey.
The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when a 53-year-old taxi driver picked up a man and a woman from Plastrias Square in the Pangrati area of Athens. The pair requested a ride to Nestou Street in Aigaleo, a western suburb of the Greek capital.
According to reports, the situation escalated once the taxi arrived at the destination at around 3:20 a.m. The male passenger reportedly pulled out a knife, threatened the driver, and stole the earnings from his shift along with his mobile phone.
After the robbery, the suspects fled the scene immediately.
Greek police have launched an investigation and are working to locate and arrest the two individuals involved.
