A 15-year-old girl suffered serious injuries after being struck by a passing vehicle late Sunday night in the Thessaloniki area, according to initial reports.
The accident occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m. on the 21st kilometer of the Thessaloniki-Michaniona provincial road in Perea, a seaside suburb southeast of Greece’s second-largest city.
Authorities said the teenager was hit by a vehicle under circumstances that remain under investigation. Emergency responders rushed the injured girl to Hippocrates Hospital in Thessaloniki, where she was receiving treatment for serious injuries.
Police subsequently arrested the driver involved in the incident.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash have not yet been determined, and an investigation is underway to establish what led to the collision.
