Hellenic Train has announced the resumption of rail services between Thessaloniki and Florina, with regular passenger operations set to restart on May 30, 2026.

The restored connection will include two pairs of direct daily services operating in both directions along the Thessaloniki–Edessa–Florina route, with several intermediate stops.

  • Train 731: Departure at 10:40, arrival at 13:44
  • Train 733: Departure at 13:55, arrival at 17:01

The route will serve a number of stations along the way, including Sindos, Adentro, Platy, Alexandria, Veria, Naousa, Skydra, Edessa, Arnissa and Amyntaio.

Temporary Bus Service on Opening Day

Hellenic Train noted that the morning Florina–Thessaloniki service on May 30 will operate by bus instead of train. The replacement service will make stops at Amyntaio, Arnissa, Edessa, Naousa, Veria, Alexandria and Platy.

From May 31 onwards, the route will operate normally by rail.

Changes to Edessa Services

The company also announced revised departure and arrival times for the Thessaloniki–Edessa–Thessaloniki services.

  • Train 1735 (Thessaloniki–Edessa): Departure at 18:30, arrival at 20:12
  • Train 1736 (Edessa–Thessaloniki): Departure at 20:45, arrival at 22:27

At the same time, the bus services that had temporarily replaced rail operations between Edessa and Florina will be discontinued from May 30.
