Turkish National Found Dead on Sailboat in Salamina

A 60-year-old man was found dead aboard a Turkish-flagged sailboat near Agios Nikolaos Selinia on Salamina. His body was taken to the Piraeus morgue for an autopsy

A 60-year-old Turkish national was found dead aboard a Turkish-flagged sailboat on the Greek island of Salamina, authorities said.

The incident occurred around midday Tuesday, when the Salamina Port Authority was alerted by the Hellenic Police that a body had been found in the area of Agios Nikolaos Selinia.

Officers from the Hellenic Coast Guard went to the scene and confirmed that the deceased was a 60-year-old Turkish citizen.

A forensic doctor and an emergency medical services (EKAB) team also arrived at the location.

The man’s body was subsequently transferred to the Piraeus morgue, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the circumstances of his death.

The investigation is being conducted by the Salamina Port Department, operating under the Central Port Authority of Piraeus.
