In March 2024, hotel prices in Athens, as per the Trivago Hotel Price Index, have surged. Despite this, the Greek capital maintains its position as the third cheapest destination in Europe, with only Warsaw and Istanbul boasting lower average prices.

Athens sees an average price of 136 euros, a notable increase from 115 euros in February (an 18.3% rise) and 119euros in the same month last year (marking a 14.3% increase). However, amidst this price hike, data from the Athens and Argosaronic Hoteliers Association reveals a positive trend, with January 2024 closing with an average occupancy rate of 52.8%, up from 51.2% in 2023, indicating a 3.1% increase.

Conversely, Istanbul records an average price of 111euros, reflecting a 13.27% increase from February but a 4.31% decrease compared to the same month last year. Warsaw ranks at the bottom with an average price of 105 euros, showing a 7.14% increase from February and a 2.94% rise from the same month last year.

At the top of the Trivago Hotel Price Index, Reykjavik leads with 269 euros, slightly down by 0.37% from February but up by 6.32% compared to March 2023. Zurich follows closely with a 0.75% increase and a 3.86% rise, respectively.

Paris comes next with an average price of 253 euros, marking a significant 15% increase, followed by London, which sees a notable uptick of 12.95% and 5.42%. Amsterdam stands at 225 euros, showing an 18.42% increase from the previous year and 6.64% from February, while Dublin trails slightly behind at 220 euros, showing a 19.57% increase from the same period last year and a 3.39% increase from February.
