Common Grounds Festival Returns for Second Year at SNFCC

The three-day intercultural festival will bring together communities from 16 countries through workshops, performances and activities for all ages at Stavros Niarchos Park

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) will host the second edition of Common Grounds, its intercultural festival, from July 15 to 17, 2026, transforming Stavros Niarchos Park into a meeting point for cultures from around the world.

Held over three evenings from 19:00, the festival brings together communities, organizations and creators from different countries who live and work in Greece, offering an open and participatory program designed to encourage cultural exchange, collaboration and shared experiences.

This year’s edition features contributions from embassies and cultural associations representing 16 countries—Ethiopia, Albania, Brazil, Georgia, India, Ireland, China, Congo, Mexico, Moldova, Norway, Ukraine, Sweden, the Czech Republic, the Philippines and Finland—as well as numerous groups from across Africa. Participants joined the program following an open call issued by the SNFCC.

Visitors will be able to take part in a wide range of interactive activities, including workshops, music and dance performances, storytelling sessions and pop-up activations throughout the park.

Among the festival’s highlights are opportunities to create traditional Mexican piñatas, explore Chinese textile printing techniques, participate in African drumming workshops, discover Finland’s Moomins, craft Ukrainian handmade dolls, and learn about different alphabets, games and craft traditions passed down through generations.

The program also includes performances such as the Chinese Dragon and Lion Dance and Indian Bollywood dance, showcasing cultural traditions from across the globe.

By bringing together communities from different cultural backgrounds in a shared public space, Common Grounds aims to create opportunities for dialogue, participation and cultural exchange through hands-on experiences and live performances.
