Greek Economy and Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis met in Washington D.C. on Thursday morning with his Turkish counterpart Mehmet Şimşek to exchange views on macroeconomic developments and prospects for even more voluminous bilateral trade and investment.
Both ministers were in the US capital for annual IMF and World Bank summit.
In particular, they discussed the promotion of inter-connectivity between the two economies and expanding exports, as well as boosting innovation, “green” and digital growth.
Bilateral trade between the two neighboring countries reaches five billion euros annually, a figure that most analysts maintain can be significantly increased.
Both sides also promised to keep channels of communications open in order to promote bilateral and regional initiatives.
