In a country with a 10.4 million permanent population, 2024 tax return data reveals that the overwhelming majority of taxpayers in Greece own at least one home and one private vehicle, says OT.

Based on these figures, more than 7.5 million taxpayers spent nearly €60 billion last year using debit, credit, or prepaid cards for purchases of consumer goods and services, while 1.66 million taxpayers paid over €5.2 billion in loan installments to banks. On the other hand, over 3 million households declared ownership of residences, while the total number of cars declared reached 5.5 million.
