A tragic accident occurred in Nafplio, Greece, where a 46-year-old mountaineering guide lost his life after a bee sting triggered a severe allergic reaction while he was climbing.

The incident happened in the Karathona area, a popular climbing spot. Friends accompanying him quickly transported him to Nafplio Hospital, but he suffered cardiac arrest from the allergic shock and could not be saved.

Dedicated to Nature and Community

The victim was not only passionate about climbing but had dedicated his life to nature, outdoor activities, and community service. He was the founder of the a Mountaineering Group of Argolis, promoting alternative tourism, cultural events, and environmental protection initiatives in the Ermionida region.

He was also a founding member of the Ermionida Rescue Team and served as president of the Municipal Sports and Environment Organization for two years. His initiatives included developing local hiking trails, reviving the ancient Dionysia Ermionis games, and contributing to climbing area improvements and volunteer campaigns such as “Let’s Do It.”
