Driver Arrested After Hit-and-Run Injures Teen on E-Scooter

A 16-year-old was taken to hospital with minor injuries after being struck by a car in Patras, while authorities later located and arrested the driver who left the scene.

A driver has been arrested in Patras, Greece, after hitting a 16-year-old riding an electric scooter and leaving the scene of the crash.

The incident happened on Sunday afternoon, June 21, 2026, at the intersection of Ioustinou and Vyzantiou streets in the Terpsi area of Patras.

Teen injured after collision

According to initial information, the teenager was riding an electric scooter when he was struck by a passing vehicle under circumstances that remain under investigation.

After the collision, the driver reportedly accelerated and fled the area without stopping to provide assistance to the injured teenager.

An ambulance from Greece’s emergency medical service was called to the scene and transported the 16-year-old to Agios Andreas Hospital in Patras.

Doctors found that the teenager had suffered minor injuries, and his condition was not considered serious.

Following an investigation, authorities identified and located the driver of the vehicle.

The driver was subsequently arrested as police continue examining the details of the crash and the circumstances surrounding the alleged hit-and-run.
