The body of a 74-year-old Dutch tourist who had been missing for the past six days was found dead on Samos by members of the island’s Fire Department.
The tourist had been declared missing on Sunday afternoon after he set off for a hike in the area of Limnionas and Clima on the island and did not return.
The head of the search and rescue operation called off the search on Wednesday evening, in accordance with protocol, following an intensive operation on land and sea which had the support of helicopters, drones and search dogs, said In.gr.
His disappearance was the third case in just a week in Greece where a tourist set off on a hike, during high temperatures, and did not return.
