A disturbing incident in Crete has raised concerns over taxi safety for locals and visitors alike. A mother of three reported that a taxi driver in Heraklion forced her and her children out of his vehicle to pick up tourists waiting nearby.

According to the mother, her children, aged 6, 9, and 12, were terrified as the driver left them in a dark, isolated area several kilometers from the city center. She also explained that her phone had no battery, leaving her unable to call another taxi, and no other vehicles were passing by at the time.

Taking swift action, the mother recorded the taxi’s license plate number and has initiated legal proceedings against the driver. Authorities have not yet released a statement regarding the case.

This incident has sparked discussions about taxi regulations and passenger safety in tourist-heavy regions of Crete.
