Mother, Son Found Dead in Achaia; Italian Partner Questioned

A 54-year-old woman and her 26-year-old son were found dead with apparent knife wounds at a home in the northern Peloponnese. Her 65-year-old Italian partner is being questioned and denies any involvement.

Police in Aigialeia, a coastal region in the northern Peloponnese, are investigating the deaths of a woman and her son who were found in a pool of blood inside a home, with injuries that appear to have been caused by a knife.

The two victims, a 54-year-old woman and her 26-year-old son, were discovered at a house belonging to the woman’s Italian partner. The 65-year-old man is being questioned and is treated as a suspect in the case.

He denies killing them. According to what he has reportedly told authorities, he woke up and found the pair dead inside the house. He says he then alerted police through a neighbor and asked for help. The man is not the biological father of the 26-year-old.

Strong police forces rushed to the scene, and a coroner was called to examine the circumstances of the deaths. Investigators with the Hellenic Police are pursuing every possible lead, and the inquiry is fully under way.

No further details about the circumstances of the deaths have been released so far.
