The partnership between the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family and TP Greece adds a new dimension to the Demographic Development Program in Evros.

The “Regions of Opportunity” initiative links the 10,000-euro relocation grant with the option of remote work, while the creation of up to 10 new jobs is set to be examined. The goal is to encourage permanent settlement in the border region by securing career prospects for those who choose to live there.

“Addressing the demographic issue is a national priority. With the Demographic Development Program, which started in Evros and is now expanding to ten more regional units, we offer financial support of 10,000 euros to households that choose to move their permanent residence there. However, for such a decision to last, stable career opportunities are also needed. This is what we are strengthening through our partnership with TP Greece. We are making use of remote work so that more citizens can live where they choose without limiting their career prospects. We want the private sector to be active, with initiatives that provide solutions to the needs of citizens and local communities. We are starting with Evros, and our goal is for this partnership to pave the way for similar initiatives in other parts of the country,” said Minister of Social Cohesion and Family Domna Michailidou.

For her part, Charlotte Foucteau, CEO of TP Greece and Regional Leader for CEE and the Baltics, said: “At TP Greece, we believe that career opportunities should not be limited by where people live. By using technology and innovation, remote work now allows more people to live where they want without giving up career prospects. Expanding this option is a strategic choice for our company. We tap into talent across Greece, offering highly skilled jobs that create added value for the country. The ‘Regions of Opportunity’ initiative gives practical substance to this strategy, linking TP Greece’s employment opportunities with the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family’s effort to strengthen the Greek regions. Starting with Evros, we want to make a real contribution so that more people can build their professional future in the place they choose and, through their work, support the momentum of local communities.”

Interest among TP Greece employees is already significant. In an internal company survey, 259 employees expressed interest in moving to Evros, Florina, Serres or Kastoria, 41 of them specifically to Evros, while 16 said they would consider settling there within the next six months.

In the next phase, Domna Michailidou and Charlotte Foucteau are planning a joint visit to Evros. The pilot program will be evaluated to examine the possibility of expanding the initiative to other parts of the country.
