Two minors have been arrested in Lavrio, a town in eastern Attica, Greece, on charges related to child pornography and violations of personal data protection laws, following an investigation by local police authorities.

Alleged online distribution of altered images

According to the Hellenic Police (ELAS), the suspects—a 17-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy who are reportedly related—are accused of extracting the faces of underage girls from publicly shared photographs, digitally altering the images, and inserting the facial features into other pictures. The resulting content, described by authorities as inappropriate and offensive, was then allegedly uploaded and circulated on social media.

Investigation launched after complaints

The case emerged following complaints from several minors who reported that their photographs had been edited and circulated online without their consent.

A police investigation carried out by the local cybercrime and criminal investigations unit identified the two suspects and led to their arrest.

Additional arrest over supervision charges

In addition to the minors, a 52-year-old woman was also arrested on charges of alleged neglect of supervision of a minor.

Authorities stated that the suspects were taken into custody in late April, and the case file was forwarded to the competent prosecutor for further proceedings.

Greek police confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing as officials examine the extent of the online activity and the distribution of the altered content.
