You’ve likely admired a sunset from the Acropolis Hill, but how about watching your favorite film under the stars with stunning views of the Acropolis as the sun sets? This Thursday, May 1st, Cine Paris reopens for the summer season, offering a truly unique cinematic experience in the heart of Plaka.

With a carefully curated program by Cinobo, this beloved open-air venue invites you to enjoy a blend of timeless classics, exciting new releases, and exclusive retrospectives — all under the stars, with a view that’s hard to match.

First opened more than a century ago, Cine Paris remains a cherished gem in the heart of the city. After its successful relaunch last summer, the historic venue quickly regained its reputation as Athens’ most talked-about cinematic destination.

This year, Cine Paris is kicking off its program with Phaedra (May 1–4), the classic collaboration between director Jules Dassin and his muse Melina Mercouri — a film that captures a defining moment in Greek cinema history.

Highlights of the Summer Program

Mondays with Melina: Every Monday, Cine Paris will honor the legendary Melina Mercouri with screenings of her most iconic films, including Topkapi (May 12), Never on Sunday (May 19), 10:30 P.M. Summer (May 26), and Phaedra (June 2).

Melina Mercouri as “Ilya” sings “The Boys of Piraeus” and looks at a photo of the Olympiacos team, in one of the most iconic moments in Greek cinema.
