The event, billed as Greece’s largest video game and technology expo, will take place at the Tae Kwon Do venue in Palaio Faliro, a coastal suburb of Athens. This year’s edition, “Back to School” powered by Fanta, will feature gaming experiences, esports finals, tournaments, technology activations, cosplay, live appearances and giveaways.

Organizers are positioning the event as a meeting point for Greece’s gaming community, with a program designed to appeal to both dedicated players and fans of gaming and pop culture.
Esports, tournaments and gaming experiences
The 2026 program will put major video games and competitive gaming at the center of the three-day event. Visitors can expect esports competitions and major finals alongside gaming experiences and tournaments.
Technology will also have a prominent role, with new technology and interactive brand activations planned throughout the venue.

The event will additionally feature creators, guests and live happenings, giving visitors opportunities to engage with personalities from the gaming and entertainment community.
Cosplay, pop culture and awards
Beyond gaming and technology, Gameathlon 2026 will include cosplay and pop culture activities, as well as competitions, giveaways and other surprises.
The program will also feature the HEGA video game awards, presented in collaboration with GDA Greece, adding an awards component to the event’s broader gaming-focused lineup.
Live entertainment will run throughout the three-day gathering, with organizers promising the combination of gaming, technology, competitions and activities that has become central to the Gameathlon experience.
