Μake us preferred on Google Temporary changes to Athens Metro service will take effect Monday, September 7, with three stations on Line 3 closing early for overnight rail replacement work.
From Monday through Thursday, September 10, Elaionas, Kerameikos and Monastiraki stations will close at 9:40 p.m., 2½ hours earlier than the normal end of Metro service.
During the work, Line 3 trains will continue operating normally between Dimotiko Theatro and Aigaleo and between Syntagma, Doukissis Plakentias and Athens International Airport.
Final departures before the closures
The last trains before the three stations close will depart at the following times:
- Dimotiko Theatro to Doukissis Plakentias: 9:06 p.m.
- Aigaleo to Doukissis Plakentias: 9:20 p.m.
- Elaionas to Doukissis Plakentias: 9:22 p.m.
- Kerameikos to Doukissis Plakentias: 9:25 p.m.
- Monastiraki to Doukissis Plakentias: 9:27 p.m.
- Doukissis Plakentias to Dimotiko Theatro: 9:30 p.m.
- Syntagma to Dimotiko Theatro: 9:49 p.m.
- Monastiraki to Dimotiko Theatro: 9:51 p.m.
- Kerameikos to Dimotiko Theatro: 9:53 p.m.
- Elaionas to Dimotiko Theatro: 9:56 p.m.
Changes to airport services
Airport-bound services will also be modified after the technical work begins at 9:40 p.m.
The final trains running the full route will depart from Dimotiko Theatro to the airport at 9:06 p.m. and from the airport to Dimotiko Theatro at 9:10 p.m.
After 9:40 p.m., airport-bound trains will start from Syntagma, while trains leaving the airport will terminate at Syntagma.
The scheduled airport services will be:

- 10:02 p.m.
- 10:38 p.m.
- 11:14 p.m.
Airport to Syntagma
- 9:46 p.m.
- 10:22 p.m.
- 10:58 p.m.
- 11:34 p.m.
Temporary X24 bus service
To help passengers affected by the closures, the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) will operate a temporary X24 bus route, connecting Syntagma Metro Station with Aigaleo Metro Station.
The service will run from 9:40 p.m. until the end of Metro service on Sundays through Thursdays on the affected days.
The X24 will serve the closed stations and provide a connection between Aigaleo and Syntagma.
Syntagma to Aigaleo
The stops will be:
- Syntagma Metro Station — Vasilissis Amalias
- Omonia Metro Station — Panepistimiou
- Monastiraki Metro Station toward Aigaleo — Ermou
- Kerameikos Metro Station — Iera Odos, Sidera
- Elaionas Metro Station — Iera Odos, Municipal Bus Depot
- Aigaleo Metro Station, drop-off — Iera Odos, Estavromenos
Aigaleo to Syntagma
In the opposite direction, the stops will be:
- Aigaleo Metro Station — Dimarchiou
- Elaionas Metro Station — Iera Odos, Municipal Bus Depot
- Kerameikos Metro Station — Iera Odos, Sidera
- Monastiraki Metro Station toward Syntagma — Ermou
- Omonia Metro Station — Stadiou
- Syntagma Metro Station — Vasilissis Amalias
