Families across Greece who meet the income criteria are expected to receive a one-time financial support payment of €150 for each dependent child by June 30, 2026. The measure is part of the government’s broader effort to ease the financial burden on households facing rising living costs.
The payment will be deposited automatically into beneficiaries’ bank accounts, meaning no new application or additional paperwork is required. Authorities estimate that roughly 80% of families with children—around 975,000 households—will qualify for the support.
The amount increases according to the number of children in the household. Families with one child will receive €150, two children €300, three children €450, and so on, reaching up to €1,050 for families with seven children.
Eligibility is determined by income thresholds. For a married couple with one child, the income ceiling is set at €40,000, increasing by €5,000 for each additional child. Single-parent and unmarried households are subject to slightly lower income limits.
The government has allocated approximately €240 million for the measure, which is being funded through fiscal surplus revenues. Officials say the payment is intended to provide immediate assistance to families coping with inflation and higher household expenses.
