Μake us preferred on Google The 43-year-old man at the center of the Kypseli dead infant case appeared today before Athens’s Single-Member Fast-Track Misdemeanor Court, to be tried on a series of misdemeanor charges related to an incident that occurred during his first transfer to court after his arrest.
A separate case file had been opened against the 43-year-old following the incident.
According to reports, while he was outside the prosecutor’s office, the defendant attacked a police officer while shouting “take off my handcuffs.”
Following the incident, a case file was opened against him, and he appeared in fast-track court today to be tried.
Couple to Appear Before Investigating Magistrate Tomorrow Over Infant’s Death
The 43-year-old and his 38-year-old partner will appear before the investigating magistrate tomorrow to face new, more serious charges. Both defendants are already in pretrial detention on a separate drug trafficking case and are expected to request time to prepare their defense statements.
A 26-year-old Afghan man will also be brought before the magistrate alongside them. He too has been remanded in custody and faces additional charges of sexual acts with a minor, with the couple’s 15-year-old daughter as the alleged victim.
The legal proceedings in the Kypseli case are now running in parallel, as separate case files cover different aspects of what allegedly took place in the apartment.
