A fatal stabbing in Chios, Greece, has left a 31-year-old man dead following a violent dispute between relatives in an open public area in the early hours of Thursday.

According to initial information, the victim suffered severe abdominal injuries after an argument escalated into violence. Emergency services rushed him to the local hospital, where he underwent two surgical operations. Despite medical efforts, he later died from his wounds.

The incident took place in an open space in the Ihthioskala area of Chios under circumstances that remain unclear. During the confrontation, a 51-year-old relative is reported to have stabbed the victim in the abdomen.

The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and remains in police custody in Chios. Authorities also recovered a knife measuring 16.5 centimeters, which has been seized as evidence.
