Greek authorities have launched a major crackdown on online child exploitation through a nationwide cybercrime operation dubbed FEVER III, which was carried out from late May through July.
The operation, led by the Cyber Crime Division, aimed to combat the circulation of child sexual abuse material across the internet. According to official sources, investigators identified seven individuals involved in such illegal activity. Charges were filed in all seven cases following an extensive digital investigation.
The suspects were located across various regions of the country, including Attica, Central Greece, the Peloponnese, and an island in the Cyclades. During house searches at their residences, authorities seized a range of digital devices believed to contain illicit content. The confiscated items include seven mobile phones, two SIM cards, two laptops, six external hard drives, and one memory card.
Digital forensic analysis not only confirmed the involvement of the accused but also helped determine their identities and residential addresses.
