A powerful hailstorm swept through a mountainous village in southern Greece on Thursday afternoon, covering roads and homes in thick layers of ice and causing concern among residents and farmers.

The extreme weather struck the village of Tropaia in the Arcadia region with little warning, transforming the area into what locals described as a winter-like landscape within minutes.

Residents captured dramatic videos and photographs showing streets buried under hail as the intense storm moved through the area. The footage quickly spread across social media, highlighting the severity of the phenomenon.

According to local reports, the hailstorm caused damage to agricultural land, particularly vegetable crops and other local produce.

Farmers fear significant losses, as many crops were reportedly at a critical stage of development when the storm hit.
