A maritime incident occurred on Monday morning at Souda Port in Chania, Crete, after the passenger-car ferry Elyros collided with a cargo ship during manoeuvring operations.
According to initial information, the Elyros was preparing to depart from the port while the cargo vessel was attempting to dock when the two ships came into contact.
No injuries were reported following the collision, and authorities immediately responded to the incident. The cargo ship was eventually brought safely into the port under the supervision of the port authorities.
Both vessels sustained material damage, while an investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision.
