Summer has given way to fall, which arrived with a striking waterspout off the coast of Mykonos.

Stormy weather is approaching, and the Mykonos Live TV camera captured a striking waterspout earlier Monday, October 12, between Mykonos and Naxos, beneath dark clouds that had covered the sky.

The weather conditions indicate that the storm is approaching the “Island of the Winds,” as Mykonos is known, according to the website.

A waterspout, also known as a marine tornado, resembles a “trunk” or funnel connecting the sky to the sea. It is a rapidly rotating column of air and condensed water vapor that forms over a body of water, such as the sea or a lake, and is connected to the base of a storm cloud.

Waterspouts typically last for up to 20 minutes.
