Greek tennis prodigy Rafael Pagonis has been named Tennis Europe’s Under-14 Player of the Year, capping off a breakthrough season that confirmed his steady rise among the continent’s elite juniors.

The distinction crowns a year of sustained progress for the young Greek, who impressed consistently across Europe’s most demanding junior tournaments, collecting titles and standout performances along the way.

Pagonis’ campaign in the Race to Monte-Carlo unfolded with patience and precision. From spring onward, a string of strong results allowed him to steadily close the gap on his main rivals.

The decisive moment came in early June, when his triumph at the Milan Super Category tournament propelled him back to the top of the European rankings. From there, he never relinquished first place, instead widening the margin over his closest challengers.

In total, Pagonis claimed eight titles in 2025, an exceptional haul that included three Super Category tournaments, three Category 1 events, the European U14 Championship in the Czech Republic, and the prestigious Tennis Europe Junior Masters in Monte Carlo.

With consistency, composure and a growing list of achievements, Rafael Pagonis has firmly established himself as one of Europe’s brightest young talents—and a name to watch closely in the years ahead.
