Greece secured top honors in two categories at this year’s fourth edition of the Travel Gossip awards, organized by the UK-based travel trade platform.
Greece ranked top of the list in the categories “Agents’ Favourite Sunshine Getaway Destination” and “Agents’ Favourite Family Destination,” after UK-based travel agents cast their votes.
The “The Travel Celebration 2026” event, which highlights favorite destinations and tourism companies, was held in London last week, bringing together 370 professionals from the British travel industry.
The head of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) services for the UK and Ireland, Eleni Skarveli, picked up the awards on behalf of Greece.
In the “Favourite Sunshine Getaway Destination” category, Greece outperformed leading destinations such as Cyprus, Dubai, Jamaica, Mallorca and Tenerife. In the “Favourite Family Destination” category, it ranked ahead of Abu Dhabi, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Florida and Turkey.
Greece was also shortlisted in the “Foodie Destination” and “Luxury Destination” categories, while Mykonos was nominated in the “Agents’ Favourite LGBTQ+ Friendly Destination” category.
