An emergency landing by a TUI Boeing 787 triggered an alert at Rhodes’ International Airport on Monday afternoon, after a TUI fly Netherlands passenger aircraft was forced to land following reports of a technical issue during its flight.
The incident involved flight TFL191 (OR191), which was operating from Mombasa, Kenya, to Amsterdam aboard a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. During the flight, the crew reported a possible technical problem and decided to alter the aircraft’s route.
According to available flight-tracking data, the aircraft deviated from its original flight plan and headed toward Rhodes, where it landed safely without any injuries or further complications.
Following the safe landing, the Dreamliner was moved to an isolated area of the airport, where it remains under the supervision of the relevant authorities. Fire service vehicles were dispatched to the scene as a precautionary measure, in accordance with established aviation safety protocols.
The nature of the issue that led to the diversion to Rhodes has not yet been clarified. An official statement from the airline or the relevant aviation authorities is expected regarding the cause of the incident.
