President Donald Trump says that the U.S. will hit Iran “very hard tonight” in a post on Truth Social.

He threatens that the U.S. will take control of energy infrastructure, with a focus on Kharg Island, and notes that the U.S. has used a similar playbook in  Venezuela, which has been profitable for  U.S. companies.

On Wednesday Trump also warned that the U.S. will continue to hit Iran in retribution for Iran’s downing of an Apache helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz, and until the U.S. gets the deal it wants.

“We are going to hit them, hit them very hard, we are going to continue the bombings,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

He added that, “We want a deal that makes sense, we want a deal that works,” and said that Tehran is “playing games with us.”
