Ruling New Democracy (ND) party remains above the 30% threshold in an Opinion Poll survey unveiled on Tuesday evening by the regional Action24 broadcaster, despite losing 0.7 percentage points from a similar poll in September, with an estimated vote share of 30.3% and a 14.4-point lead over second-placed ELAS.

Main opposition PASOK remains in third place but has narrowed the gap with Alexis Tsipras’ new party. The survey also records, for the first time, a 3.5% estimated vote share for the Alliance of Greeks party, which has received the declared backing of Ilias Kasidiaris, who was convicted in connection with the criminal organization Golden Dawn.

The Opinion Poll survey was conducted from Oct. 7 to 12, amid an energy crisis and persistent high prices. It also reflects the impact of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit to Greece, according to the pollsters.

The survey’s analysts said the findings also reflected the efforts of political parties during an informal, prolonged and intense pre-election period, marked by polarization and increasingly confrontational political debate.

MeRA25 stands at 2.7%, SYRIZA at 1.7% and NIKI at 1.1%. The category of other parties accounts for 5.6%. Spartans, Democrats and New Left are not listed separately because their shares fall below 1%, with their support incorporated into the other parties’ category.
