Tension erupted aboard a flight from the United Kingdom to Heraklion, Crete, on Tuesday night after a 39-year-old British passenger allegedly became aggressive toward his wife during the journey.

According to local outlet creta24.gr, the couple was traveling with their child at the time of the incident.

Reports say both the 39-year-old man and his 37-year-old wife had consumed alcohol during the flight. At some point, however, the man became threatening and verbally aggressive toward his wife, causing concern among passengers and crew.

Cabin crew members attempted to keep the situation under control until the aircraft landed at Heraklion’s Nikos Kazantzakis Airport.

Once the plane touched down, officers from the airport police department boarded the aircraft and arrested the British passenger.
