A road accident involving an EKAB ambulance ended in tragedy on Sunday morning on Mournion Avenue in Chania, Crete, after the emergency vehicle carrying a patient collided with a passing car.
The impact was extremely severe, causing the ambulance to overturn and prompting an immediate response from emergency services.

Firefighters rushed to the scene with three vehicles to assist with the rescue operation and free those trapped inside the vehicles. They managed to remove the patient who was being transported by the ambulance, but he was found unconscious, according to information reported by zarpanews.gr. It remains unclear whether his death was caused by the force of the collision or was linked to his pre-existing medical condition.

Two ambulance crew members and the driver of the passenger vehicle were also injured in the crash. They were taken to hospital for medical attention, though further details about their condition have not yet been released.
